Clyde Steel (Pty) Ltd has traditionally imported and continues to import steel from various mills worldwide besides buying domestically. The Countries that we have experience with are Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, India, China, Taiwan and Korea. We are transforming ourselves from being a domestic steel merchant to also being an International Steel Trading house. We are expanding our business relationships that we have developed with mills in various countries and as a result have recently started an International Steel Trading desk.
Our constant interaction with various mills has helped us develop the skills set to source/supply steel based on the quality and price requirements of customers. We are able to service our customer’s various steel requirements with our global knowledge base and network as we have regular allocations with mills in India/China/Bangladesh/Korea/Taiwan/Philippines/Vietnam.
We are currently trading into West & East African countries, South America and Asia. It would be impractical to mention the entire product details but to summarize we trade in various flat and long products. We also have the sources to supply pipes, seamless pipes, flanges, forgings and various engineering items like gear boxes, gears, ladles, scaffolding etc.
As a first step to building a global infrastructure we have opened a representative office in India to strengthen our sourcing/selling out of India and plan to open offices in China and the Middle East as the business in these regions develop.
Our management has been in the steel related industry for the last 45 years and has experience in various global markets. Our goal is to become a leading provider of marketing, finance and logistics services to the global steel industry.
